Abdolhossein Mokhtabad

Seyed Abdolhossein Mokhtabad-Amrei (born 1966 in Sari-Iran) is an Iranian composer and singer of Persian Classical music.

He has studied under renowned and legendary Masters, or Ostads, and since his professional début in 1991, has performed numerous concert in Iran and abroad, including most European Countries, South East Asia and Northern America "Canada & United States" and produced more than 20 albums.

Mokhtabad’s works are in the classical Persian style of Radif which embodies millennia of mystical musical traditions and philosophies. He is also an accomplished player of the Santur (dulcimer), Setar (long-necked lute), Tonbak (vase-shaped drum) and Piano.

After performing several concerts and producing variety of albums, Mokhtabad left Iran in 1998 in purpose of learning Western Classical music. After two years studying music in BA at Ottawa University in Canada, he accepted as a MA and then PhD student at Goldsmiths College University of London.
